Beautiful Boring

Sometimes…just sometimes, boring is beautiful and that’s especially true if you’re a woman over 40+ struggling right here right now with life.
You might have some kind of adversity or trauma history.
Trauma Symptoms and Women
You might be suffering PTSD symptoms just as many of my professional and non-working clients do.
You might be aware of this or you might not know the things you feel are tied to ptsd or trauma. (If you want to find out more come to our free weekly group for women online )
It doesn’t matter what walk of life you come from. Educated or uneducated, working or no no longer working, retired or just coming into menopause, gay, straight, parent or grandparent, single woman, a woman without children or the matriarch of a large and bustling family!
Trauma symptoms can and do impact women like you and like me, from any walk of life anywhere in the world.
And if you’re in the second phase of life and you’re still suffering from PTSD symptoms, you may have reached desperation and action time.
Here’s a list of PTSD symptoms that might still be affecting you:
- Problems regulating Your emotions
- Emotional outbursts
- Feeling swamped by your feelings
- Avoidance of people, places or activities or things.
- Negative changes in thinking and mood - futility, depression, lack of joy.
- Changes in physical and emotional reactions.
- High startle response
- Feeling on edge
- Insomnia
- Concentration problems
- Dissociation and feeling detached from yourself and life.
- Relationship issues (partner, family, children, friends, workplace.)
- Changes in self-care.
- Guilt and/or shame
- Extreme emotional swings
And these are just some of the trauma symptoms you could be experiencing that are making your life anything but boring.
And yet that’s what you might crave.
Peace, quiet, calm and sameness.

Consider how it is for you, inside yourself.
Are you wanting greater stability, peace and equanimity?
And are you at a point where you want a life with fewer emotional swings, less pain and less anxiety, less stress and depression?

Emotional Resilience and Peace As The New Goal
In all honesty, beautiful woman, you’ll need to learn to crawl before you can walk.
If you still have ptsd symptoms, you will need to learn to regulate your system.
And when I say regulate your system, I mean really regulating your nervous system in practice and not just in theory.
In practice. Learning how to have some agency over it.
An ongoing and supportive HOW TO that keeps you on track.
A lot of the information about this is now out in the public domain and that’s great.
But information is only the first stage. It can only take you so far. You simply cannot read yourself or inform yourself out of trauma symptoms.
That can help. But it won't solve the issues that require a systemic approach and a profound and empathic attunement and guidance.
You can read every single wonderful and brilliant book by Gabor Mate, absorb every single video by Bessel Van Der Kolk, read every academic article by Janina Fisher; you can consume every single youtube on emotional regulation and personal growth and change and you can still struggle.
Yes, like these wonderful trailblazers, Camilla Slater Coaching provides you with the information you need. But we do more with our coaching processes and programmes.
And we do it from the perspective of a real woman who has really committed and done years and years and years of personal work.

Yes it takes time. Changing your life direction does not happen overnight.
This is why I suggest you work with me for a period of time so we work TOGETHER in the coaching relationship. Your hand will be held.
The coaching approach from Camilla Slater Coaching weaves in very clear and supported healing that goes beyond usual template approaches. We don't do that.
It’s a very responsive and organic and personalised approach, even in the group programmes such as The Heroine’s Journey Group Coaching programme, where you get to absorb the incredible information and then apply it to your life with ongoing support.
Then, if you want more guidance you can move into elite and one to one coaching. But that's entirely up to you.
Some women - particularly if you’re still working professionally - want the full privacy of the one to one online sessions or even elite, personalised retreats where I travel to you or to a destination where you are guided by me intensively to make breakthrough changes.
