Shadow Puppets

And I feel it today.

Life is fun. And wonderful. And edgy. It is also ordinary and mundane. I take out garbage. I bemoan the rain at times. I wee twice a night. I nurse lambs when I don't want to and I weed the garden. And yet I’m grateful. For all of it.

At present my life is changing. Again.

The upward spiral - that helical form - that organic and elemental shape is calling upon me - calling me UP once again.

It’s a delight. Next level. Here we go. Woop-woop.

Darks and Lights

For many years I stayed small…a dim lantern. Flickering.

I’d flame up briefly. And when the fire became too bright - like phosphorous - I’d dampen it and sizzle it down.

(Don’t let yourself shine, girl, don’t outshine other girls. Don’t be a mighty girl. Don’t outshine your friend. Stay small. Stay CATHOLIC humble. Don’t be a fierce girl. Be a bit player. Don’t show your intellectual brilliance. Don’t let anyone know how much you create in a day, lest they are intimidated and don’t like you. Don’t be not liked. Be liked. Don’t be you. Dont be marvellous. Don’t shine bright like a diamond. Don’t be the Pleiades all in one. Don’t outshine that boy there. Don’t outshine your neighbour. Don’t outshine your acquaintance or your father, don’t outshine your mother or even your sister or your brother. Don’t be ALL you CAN and want to be. Don’t shine. Stay with the shade and the shadows. Live in the shadows. Make friends of the shadows. Shut down the light. Don’t show your brilliance. Don’t show your kindness. Don’t show your steeliness. Don’t show your fierceness and don’t show your love. Don’t show. Don’t show up. Don’t show your honesty. Don't show your want for transparency. Don’t be all you are. Don’t show ALL that you are. Allow yourself to be relegated to a lesser row.)

Who knows THAT way of being in the world?

I won a medal for shade work. The wrong kind - which paradoxically was the right kind-because it unwittingly led me to here.

And here is good. Beautiful. Fabulous. Good is Grand! Flow.

As coach, I’ve learned to shine. To light. To light up inside. To be wise. To romance wise change.

I’ve also learned to navigate darkness very successfully.  As if I’m blind. I've also learned there is no point seeking approval or hoping for love from those who know you and might unconsciously want you to stay small.

Yes. It happens. And it becomes opportunity for more change.

As a coach to gorgeous and beautiful women, I show other women how to unravel themselves so they reside in a simultaneous place of knowing and unknowing - this grand and edgy place that takes a little getting used to! Very cool.

This is the mystery of who they truly are…maybe? Is it the mystery of you too?

I also behave as a role model. That is sacred.

I am - just like you are - a gorgeous expression of perpetual celebration and self-creating -living in uncertainty and clarity over a lifetime. What I create can only come from my particular life path - which no one else has. I show you how to open and then own yours.

What if a life path is just a collection of particularities that lead us all in the end to the universal and the general?

What does that mean?

Unravelling?

It’s really nice to change once you get in the full swing of it. It’s nice to understand ALL that I you are - all that I am.

And it’s great to keep exploring and navigating.

And it’s nice and fun to play a few little maverick trickster games with people who get too serious about themselves - and that includes me.

EXTRAORDINARY

I actually don’t know anyone quite like me.

I am extraordinary. I know that. I’m sorry not sorry if my self appraisal offends you?

Maybe if it does, ask yourself why it would? Does it offend you because you see it as arrogance? Does it not offend because you respect it as self-belief? Does it affront because somewhere deep down inside you just might want to……… would dearly love to - make the same claim, knowing in your heart that it’s also very true?

Maybe you’d like to have the confidence to believe that you actually ARE extraordinary too?

Yes. Extraordinary. Very extraordinary.

I hope that today you realise that you too are extraordinary - in your particular way…that particular way that leads you to the universal and the general and the very beautiful totality of you.

Be surprised. Be very surprised.

You and I may discover we are not who we think and feel we are - but are something far richer and far, far lighter and far far darker and better.

Are you the hand or the shadow or both?

The light? The dark?

Light - just light - for me, equals spiritual bypass and I see a great deal of that here on social media and in coaching realms. Yikes.

Dark - just dark - for me, equals spiritual and psychological moroseness, the seduction of navel-gazing, a preoccupation with the psychopathologising of the life journey and a descent into the abyss.Yikes too.
